Food & Music Festival – Day 1

What a perfect start to our Food and Music Festival

That’s right, the staff members have had a sit down taster of our new Summer Menu, we’ve had the pleasure in feeding our one hundred ‘lucky diner winners’ and today the fun really started with fantastic live music, great food and spectacular fine Cornish ales.

Day 1 really kicked off with The Cuts at 5pm-7pm, entertaining us with their amazing acoustic act, playing classic covers which had the Skinner’s Brewery Tap fans stopped in their tracks! Huge thanks to The Cuts!

The evening progressed up in our Hopstore which was already a busy restaurant, who all had the pleasure in listening to Polly Money, a local Falmouth based Singer/Songwriter, who may we say, was actually breathtaking – gentle piano and guitar, simply perfect atmospheric sounds. We do hope that our lovely diners had a great night with Polly and our team at the Old Ale House.  If you were unlucky enough to have missed Polly, check out her music at

At the same time downstairs we had Tom Elliot – Cornish Singer/Songwriter, may we also say very unique in an incredible fantastic way, playing classic acoustic covers and original music. Also we heard someone say “Woahh, that voice! “. Yes indeed his voice is superb! We can’t wait to hear more from Tom, if you get a chance to see Tom, don’t miss it – You can also buy his EP on ITunes , or just to have a cheeky listen. 😉

Headlining our evening downstairs in the bar was Tumbao, Latin/Funk/Cajun – 5 Piece, from the moment this band started they had the crowd engaged, with funky classic tunes which had our customers doing the chicken dance, well some of them were. 😉 Feel good music from 9:30pm – midnight made this band the perfect one to close out our first day of the Food & Music Festival.

The fun starts all over again tomorrow (Saturday) with our first music act at 1pm downstairs in the bar.

We’re expecting – Saturday line up to be –

Joe Francis, Jess Lawson, Joss White, Kimberley Oram (Hopstore), Mikki Berg and headlining and closing out day two of the Food & Music Festival, The Hoodle.

One Perfect Weekend!
